Q&A: On WordPress I noticed that I will receive a blog comment notification e-mail an hour after it was posted?

For example, if someone posted a comment at 6:00PM, I will have an e-mail come in at 7:00PM. Is this an automatic wordpress kink or do I have the power to change it?

Any number of things could cause this.

You can look in your wordpress admin under general/settings and make sure you have the right time zone.

But, it’s also possible your host is in a different time zone than you, have a different time and this could explain the discrepancy you see.

Your host could simply be queueing mail, and it gets delivered every hour.

But it’s really hard to troubleshoot without seeing the full headers from the delayed email you see.

so i need to know which one would be best for what im doing… wordpress for a site and google blogger for a blog. i plan on hacing review s for cds and new artists and articles ive written and such. Im just kinda curious on which is best. let me know what you think!

I’m planning to move my blog form Blogger to some other, more professional site. Which is better? WordPress or Weebly? And which is popular?And does Weebly offer services like importing the posts on my old blog to the new ones? I know wordpress does. I need one that can be easily shared with, a less complicated one. And I am more interested in text form of blogging rather than the pictures or videos. which one would you suggest?

How can I add a bottom ad banner and bottom ad banner to my wordpress cms?

I would like to customize my cms WordPress template to have top and bottom ad banners. I know that WordPress has widgets that allows you to out ads on the sides, but I would like then on top and bottom. Any suggestions?

You could hard code them right into your header/footer files or use a plugin that enables you to add shortcodes into your theme like WP Bannerize. Taking this approach you could manage the banners in admin.

A company which book domain, hosting , and do online marketing. For their website shall they go with wordpress or jhoomla or just make an static page ? Any add on suggestion for the website ?

WordPress for simple, blog style site. Joomla for a more sophisticated site. Static site if the company doesn’t want to make their own changes (the other two have content management systems).

The other option is to go for a proprietary website solution that is not open source.

If the company is going to do online marketing, they will have to be able to maked changes to their site.
